CHINESE CINNABAR DRAGONS MOON FLASK VASE An old Chinese cinnabar red lacquered moon flask form vase. Depicts a dragon with five talons amongst waves with flaming dragon jewel. Archaic scrolled designs to sides. Etruscan patterns to neck and leaf design to foot. Black lacquer interior and bottom. Late Qing to Republic period. Measures 10 1/2" height x 7 3/8" width x 4" depth (26.7cm x 18.7cm x 10.1cm). Total weight of 969 grams.

A PAIR OF CHINESE CINNABAR ELEPHANT SEATS20th CenturyThe red oxide lacquer is built up over a wooden base of the ceremonial elephant forms with their heads and tusks pointed downward, trunk raised up and ears pinned back. The stalwart creatures feature incised seats and tasseled saddle blankets with an allover pattern of fretwork, shells, foliate forms and clouds. The sides of the blankets each feature the incised motif of a vase of flowers on a delicate pine needle ground.Condition: Very minor chips.
