A Chinese cinnabar lacquer snuff bottle and stopper, of flattened baluster form carved with figures in landscapes, bears four character Qianlong reign mark to base, 7.5cm high; and a Japanese cinnabar lacquer snuff bottle and wooden stopper, carved with flowersprays, 7.5cm high (2). Both with typical very minor surface splits and flakes. Wooden stopper probably a replacement. 170319
Grouping of Seven (7) Oriental Tableware. Includes: 3 snuff bottles, 2 carved figurines(lapis and Quartz), jade carving, and porcelain tomato altar figurine. Jade carving measures 3-1/2" H x 2" W, lapis figurine measures 3-1/4" H x 2" W. cinnabar snuff bottle measures 3-3/4" H x 2-1/2" W. Condition: One snuff bottle is missing the lid, tomato figurine has a loss to the top, lapis has a few small nicks, jade carving has a loss and a crack. A Chinese Cinnabar Lacquer Snuff Bottle and Stopper, probably Suzhou, 1740-1800, of flattened ovoid form carved with figures in a wooded landscape, 7.8cm high See illustration Provenance: Bears paper label for Hugh M Moss Ltd The is bottle appears to belong to a group of cinnabar lacquer snuff bottles thought to have been made in an Imperial manufactory at Suzhou during the reigns of Qianlong and Jiajing Some surface wear throughout leading to some loss of detail. Area of bubbling and deterioration to shoulder. Spoon missing but possibly inside the bottle. Some light scratching throughout. 180219
A RARE JAPANESE CERAMIC PLAQUE WITH A TOTEI CLOISONNE CENTRE AND CINNABAR LACQUER, heavily inlaid with abalone shell, the cloisonn centre depicting a phoenix, butterflies and native flora surrounded by a green lacquer Greek key border, the cinnabar outer rim lacquered with multi coloured applied leaves and heavily inlaid with abalone shell, the reverse lacquered with a square seal signature to the centre, 50.9cm diameter, 7.9cm high.

An early 19th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty four panel discretionary screen having brilliant carved layered details of figures and scenes with greek key details and stepped pediment top. Overpainted in thick gilt ormolu paint the screen has traces of the original red Cinnabar lacquer finish in places. Measures: 170cm high x 45cm wide.
