A collection of Chinese objects of virtu, 19th century and later, to include a cinnabar lacquer baluster vase, 23m high, two tile inset bookends, reputedly from the Temple of Heaven, Peking, tiles measuring 13cm x 9.5cm, a pair of lozenge shaped cloisonné cache pots, 19cm wide, a pair of blue ground dragon decoration vases, 11cm high, a green ground cloisonné baluster vase, 15.5cm high, a cloisonné hinged box and cover, 8cm x 9.5cm, and a lacquered vesta box and striker, 8cm wide (11) (at fault)Condition report; Pair of cache pots - Each with visible surface staining both internally and externally. Pitting visible throughout. Small minor loss of enamel to one. No obviously concerning dents or condition issues apart from commensurate ware, pitting and staining. Pair of vases - each extensively dented and with enamel loss. Green vase - dent and enamel loss to the rim/neck. Noticeable dent to the shoulder of the vase. Cinnabar vase - Extensive ware can be seen around the neck and foot including fracturing, dents and losses. Base missing. Rim lifting. Despite this, the actual body of the vase and its decoration is competent and in good order. Bookends - each tile cracked and re-glued. Chips visible.

Its petalate rim finished with a metal band above dragons on a cloud background that fill the cavetto while a detailed landscape across the floor displays scholars, immortals , and boy attendants traversing a bridge near a lakeside garden villa, the lacquered base bearing Qianlong six-character mark surrounded by the Eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism against an incised wanzi diaper ground.. 33 cm diameter ,comes with a stand. Provenance : From the Estate of Alfred and Irene Morley and thence by descent to the current owner. Alfred ( Bob) Morley (1890-1971) was a British journalist and diplomat . He lived from 1915 till 1941 in Hongkong and Shanghai , He was editor for both the Hong-Kong Telegraph andthe South China Morning Post , in 1931 He settled in Shanghai as Editor for the Shanghai Times. He was also president of the Rotary Club Shanghai. From March 1940 he was Press Attaché at the British embassy in Shanghai .Condition Report: A few tiny very cracks and losses of lacquer near the rim , but good overall condition

The bottom with a Qianlong six marks character in gold . 16,5 cm diameter . Comes with stands. Provenance : From the Estate of Alfred and Irene Morley and thence by descent to the current owner. Alfred ( Bob) Morley (1890-1971) was a British journalist and diplomat . He lived from 1915 till 1941 in Hongkong and Shanghai , He was editor for both the Hong-Kong Telegraph and the South China Morning Post , in 1931 He settled in Shanghai as Editor for the Shanghai Times. He was also president of the Rotary Club Shanghai. From March 1940 he was Press Attaché at the British embassy in Shanghai .Condition Report: Structurally sound, but some spots of missing lacquer and scratches on the inside of the bowls . A small chip near the rim of one bowl and a few cracks on the outside of the other one .
A Chinese lacquer carved bead necklace and matching earrings; the necklace consists of twenty-five spherical wood beads, each engraved with the 'Shou' pattern which signifies longevity, finished with red lacquer (trade name 'cinnabar lacquer'), hand-knotted to a box clasp, marked 'SILVER' and 'MADE IN CHINA', overall measuring 86.0 cm in length, bead measures 2.9 cm across; the pair of matching earrings each comprises one carved 'Shou' bead, attached to screw-back fittings, stamped ''9ct'.Total weight of items 263.7 grams (2).
