A Chinese red cinnabar lacquer lobed dish 16th century, raised on a high foot and carved with eight young boys playing in a rocky, mountainous landscape beneath pine and willow trees within a continuous border of scrolling foliage, the reverse lacquered black, 32cm. A large 19th century Chinese cinnabar lacquer shaped circular charger, the central reserve depicting a family seated beneath a tree, signed, diameter 53cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: Was knocked of a wall some time ago so to the underside there is a crack running about 9" along the rim, a small area of restoration to the rim on the underside, there are three/four losses to the underside of the rim, several small areas of loss visible from the top.

A Chinese carved red cinnabar lacquer and gilt metal mounted snuff bottle and stopper, the stopper carved with petals and retaining the scoop, the bottle intricately carved with a boating scene to one side and figured in a garden to the other, surrounded by stiff leaf, foliate and floral decoration, gilt mark to base, 6. 5cm high over all.
A Chinese cinnabar lacquer and inlaid flower head form box and cover, late Qing dynasty, the cover inset with stained ivory, mutton fat jade and other hardstones with a gu shape vase of flowers, antique vases and objects and recumbent lion dog, against a lacquer cell diaper ground, the sides carved with panels of flowers, black lacquer interior, (incomplete) 31cm diameter The box is accompanied by a letter written by Wang-Ho-Hsuan, and also translated into English, to the General Spratt Bowring in Peking, July 30th 1901 thanking him for allowing the writer to remove furniture from his property prior to its destruction and replacement by barracks during the 'Boxer's anarchy' and indicating that he 'has prepared a box for containing this petition as a token of respect'
IRON BOUND TIBETAN TRUNK - 17th c Iron Bound Tibetan Wooden Trunk with ornate gold gauffrage on cinnabar red lacquer decoration of a writhing dragon in panel surrounded by vine trelliswork and banding, oversized ornate wrought iron handle center front with large reticulated and engraved lockplate above, loose snipe hinges, 24 1/2" (62.2 cm) tall, 52" (132.1 cm) x 17" (43.2 cm), quite worn, nearly all finish gone from top, great age patina.
PAIR OF CHINESE LACQUER BOXES - Pair of Signed Han Dynasty Lacquer Cosmetic Boxes, thin walled, decorated with gilt demons, leopard, bird, on black field with fine overall tracery in red, yellow and silver, the coffined lid fits over the lower box, lapping nearly to the bottom, with cinnabar red interior having demons in panels in center of both top and bottom halves, 4 1/2" (11.4 cm) tall, 4 1/2" (11.4 cm) x 9 3/4" (24.8 cm) each, in silk lined box, fine condition.

TWO-PANEL CHINESE SCREEN - Late 19th c Chinese Two Panel Screen in ornately carved hardwood frame with reticulated figures, finished ends, set on metal casters, having lacquered panels in black and cinnabar with deep relief inlaid ivory and mother-of-pearl rendering of eagles on flowering branches, sparrows in flight, each panel is 73" (185.4 cm) x 31" (78.7 cm) x 2" (5.1 cm), some losses to inlay.

CHINESE CINNABAR DRAGONS MOON FLASK VASE An old Chinese cinnabar red lacquered moon flask form vase. Depicts a dragon with five talons amongst waves with flaming dragon jewel. Archaic scrolled designs to sides. Etruscan patterns to neck and leaf design to foot. Black lacquer interior and bottom. Late Qing to Republic period. Measures 10 1/2" height x 7 3/8" width x 4" depth (26.7cm x 18.7cm x 10.1cm). Total weight of 969 grams.
