A George II Irish mahogany games table, the hinged top with protruding corners revealing a baize lined surface with candle-stands and counter wells, above inlaid chequer and backgammon boards, with a hinged compartment on a ratchet revealing a hinged backgammon frame, on shell capped cabriole legs and faceted pad feet, on a single gate support, 73.5cm high, 86.7cm wide, 44.5cm deep. Provenance: Sotheby's Mount Juliet House Sale 24th September 1986, Lot 445. The Collection of the Late P. J. Rankin.
A Victorian walnut and marquetry inlaid work table, the fold over games top inlaid with chess and backgammon boards over a slim drawer and work box with marquetry inlaid basket on fine barley twist carved end pillar supports united by similarly carved centre stretcher, raised on moulded cabriole leg to scroll feet and castors CONDITION REPORTS Very wobbly on legs, various scratches, chips, small losses of veneer, evidence of repairs to top, interior with some small chips to edges, loss of veneer in one section, small scratches and impressed marks, large crack running through the backgammon board and veneer lifting in places, veneer lifting around left-hand hinge on chess board side, interior of compartment : paper is worn/missing/ripped in places, To the front some small chips and losses, some scratches, lock escutcheon missing, veneers lifting, some evidence of woodworm holes to legs. All over shows signs of general wear and tear. Approx 57.5 cm x 70 cm

One of the 15 white backgammon counters is a replacement, only the dice are present, light wear to the board with some peeling. Only one dice shaker present. Please see extra images
Late 19th Century rosewood games compendium, the hinged cover and doors opening to reveal a fitted interior with Staunton style chess set, draughts, cribbage board, chess/draughts board, playing cards, dominoes, lead horses, dice and dice shaker, 32cm wide Condition: White king has loss to cross decoration. White queen has a series of dents, possibly from being chewed, cribbage board has warped slightly, one of the 15 white backgammon counters is a possible replacement, four of the 15 black backgammon counters have damage, horses have loss to paintwork, both sets of cards have many cards missing, light wear to the board with some peeling and some splitting along the spine, key missing. A TWO SIDED GAMING BOARD Possibly Kurnool, Southern India, 19th century polychrome-painted and gilt lacquered wood, dismantling in two sections, one side with backgammon layout, with raised edge, the other with grid for draughts, chess and pachhisi, richly decorated with floral motifs on gold ground 66 x 44 x 3cm Condition: Worn through use, with various chips and losses, especially around outer edges. Lacquer slightly crackled.
