A VICTORIAN WALNUT ‘ROYAL CABINET OF GAMES’ COMPENDIUMThe hinged lid enclosing an interior fitted with a folding black and red tooled gilt-leather chess, backgammon and steeplechase board; the lift-out tray containing bone checkers and scoring plate with bone dominoes set beneath, the hinged fold-out front enclosing a bone chess set, the under section containing playing cards, the subdivided interior compartment with six painted metal steeplechase horses and two shakers, stamped plaque ‘The Royal Cabinet of Games’. The box, 32cm wide; 17.5cm highCondition report:One dice missing but otherwise appears complete (there is room for another counter but there are 15 of each currently so we do not believe any are missing). Chess pieces generally ok with wear and dirt. Rubbing to the staining of the red pieces. Some small odd chips - notably to the edge base of a red pawn, a spike to the queen’s crown and base of a red knight, and one white pawn piece with glue repair.Games board with quite a few scratches and small marks, dirt to the leather (see images) commensurate with use over the years; three old stickers to the backgammon sections - which will require careful removal. Split to one fold on the horse racing side; some red squares lifting slightly.Case in god order with general marks, scratches and wear consistent with age and use including a deeper scratch to the cover and knocks to the corners. Missing retailer’s label to the back edge.

A Gurdjian of Paris and Constantinople George III style mahogany fold-over compendium gaming table; with extending telescopic action incorporating a roulette wheel, backgammon board, chess/chequers and the corresponding carved and turned chessmen, chequers and bone gaming tokens. The table with a rotating top, on stop, fluted turned tapering supports. 90 cm wide x 52 cm deep x 76 cm high overall.The top of the table is showing the moulding around its edge through the veneer and the surface has some blemishes.The interior slides smoothly as expected one of the compartments has a split to the sliding cover.The roulette wheel surround has cracked from uneven shrinkage.The table is structurally good but will need some cosmetic work and repairs to the splits in the compartment covers.

Geoffrey Parker Tournament Board backgammon set Geoffrey Parker Tournament Board backgammon set in black leather combination locked briefcase, complete with ivory style acrylic doubling cube, 30 black and white acrylic stones, two black leather dice cups, 4 dice, leather token for the 'Crawford Rule' with green billiard cloth playing field with red and black leather inlays. Black leather case has gilded RH initials above the handle. Closed measurements excluding handle: 61cm wide, 37.3cm deep, 8.2cm high. Open: 61cm wide, 75.6cm deep, 4.1cm high. Billiard cloth rectangular playing area on each side: 58.3cm wide, 27cm deep. Stones: 4.5cm diameter. Doubling cube: 3cm x 3cm x 3cm.In excellent condition, only used a handful of times and well cared for. No stains to the billiard cloth. The locking mechanism works. Two very slight dents to the black leather exterior of the case. Please see additional photographs.
