A French bone 'Regence' pattern chess set, nine ivory and nine ebony gaming counters and a folding ebony and bone inlaid chess and backgammon board, 19th century. Condition Report Chess board has an old repair to one of the ivory squares otherwise in good condition. Not all of the chess pieces are matching. The board is 75cm long x 53cm wide. Both chess sets are complete however some pieces differ in size and appear to have some parts missing, there are chips and marks throughout the pieces with pieces most likely having been replaced later. The board is generally in good condition with age related wear. The tallest piece is 10cm high.

There are chips around the edges on the top and around the bottom of the sides. One of the sides has a long scratch along it. Inside the table there are some spots of damp and the area under the divide is worn. There are a few large cracks along the central column near the feet. See attached images. There are no chess pieces/backgammon pieces included in the lot.
