FAMOUS FOOTBALLERS Book published in 1895 "Famous Footballers", 224 large plates of Famous Footballers, Rugby Players and Team Groups of the age. Includes team groups of Royal Arsenal, Newcastle Utd, Wolves, Sheffield Wed, Sheffield Utd, Millwall, Derby County, Blackburn Rovers, Swansea, Leicester Fosse, Preston, Aston Villa, Wales, England and Scotland. Rugby team groups include England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, a number of County teams and also a number of Club teams including Hull FC, Hartlepool Rovers, London Scottish, Richmond, Newport, Moseley, Cardiff and others. Many individual player photographs from both Football and Rugby. The book is nicely bound in claret leather and cloth with a gilt hardback cover inscription "Famous Footballers" with a gilt coloured player kicking a football, size of the plates is approx 24cm x 36 cm ( 9 1/2 " x 14"). 224 plates in total and generally in good condition, occasional slight creasing but overall condition should in our opinion be described as "Good". An excellent historical book showing the stars of the early days of Football and Rugby. This scarce book is rarely seen in condition as good as this and most surviving copies have been unbound to provide individual plates. As described

BRADFORD PA Home programme v Bristol City, 13/9/1913, BPA were promoted on goal average having finished on equal points with Arsenal who stayed down. Their paths have continued to follow different courses not entirely to the advantage of Avenue. This copy is ex bound volume but has the cover, slight nicks to spine , sixteen page issue, slight ageing.

Set of home programmes from 1955/56, 21 League games and F.A Cup ties against Bedford and A Villa, and several rare 4-page issues notably Man Utd and Everton. Both sets were previously the property of Don Roper ex-Arsenal winger. Sold together with 12 home programmes from the beginning of 1956/57 season before his transfer to Southampton. Fair/good
