A RARE .900 CALIBRE BREECH-LOADING FRENCH MODEL 1828 FLINTLOCK FUSIL DE RAMPART, CIRCA 1830 with sighted barrel rifled with twelve grooves, fitted with folding back-sight (leaves removed), tip-up breech secured by a thumb-screw and with an additional folding lever for a gas-tight fit behind, rounded lock with Charleville Royal arsenal inscription, fitted with pierced cock and brass pan, figured walnut butt (cracked through and repaired), regulation iron mounts including pivot mount for a wall or rampart, and struck throughout with inspector's marks, L beneath a star 130.1 cm; 51 1/4 in barrel Rampart guns of this early flintlock model are notably rare.
