1 bottle D'Oliveiras Very Old Rare Madeira (1960's/70's) bottling "Meio Doce" - matured in oak casks - Over 25 Years D'Oliveira is one of the greatest of the classic Madeira shippers, and one of the few to survive from the pre-phylloxera era. Founded in 1850, and an amalgamation of firms dating back to 1820, it is today housed in cellars that date from 1619. This small jewel of a company has always be owned by the D'Oliviera family, who were once highly important growers in the parish of São Martinho. Its stocks of old wines have grown over time, either through marriage with other wine-producing families, or by the purchase of other old firms. But the foundation for its unparalleled library of ancient vintages was laid by wines made by the family itself, from its legendary vineyards in São Martinho.

She is inspired by moving skies and the various moods of the Atlantic Ocean. The actress travelled the length and breadth of the county over the course of a summer, encountering the colourful characters that play a large part in the region's communities.Caroline has also put her creative skills to work in helping other fundraising programmes in Cornwall - 'Seasalt' is selling a bag she has designed for The Fishermen's Mission which supports fishermen and women and their families during hard times. Artist: Jason LilleyTitle: No one to see the distress flare (St Ives)Size: 30 x 39 x 2.5cmMedium: Mixed MediaJason LilleyMuch more than simple visual responses, Cornish-born Jason Lilley's paintings engender a discourse between his own response to the physical, political and spiritual condition of his native county, and the perceptions of those who now claim the county as their own. Painting increasingly in oil (yet retaining the graphite element of a long period which employed elements of abstraction using watercolour and acrylics overlaid by pencil lines), Jason Lilley's paintings look like an individual yet characteristic interpretation of the familiar roofs, streets and coastline around St Ives. However, the work contains an underlying narrative based on the artist's concerns for the interaction between the elements, history and politics of the Penwith area in particular. These narratives are implied through composition, handling of media, visual clues and picture titles. But it is on an aesthetic level that the work finds its clearest appeal, where a developed and direct ease of line leads the eye around considered, sometimes studious, compositions. This facility with line is finding expression in the etchings and aquatints that now constitute a significant part of his output. Artist: Shirley NethertonTitle: Coming HomeSize: 28 x 27 x 1.5cmMedium: AcrylicShirley Netherton I am a Cornish artist who has spent many years developing my distinctive style so that today, my work is instantly recognisable. Being self-taught has been advantageous - my style has not been moulded but has evolved. It has not been influenced by the work of others but has become uniquely my own by the processes of practice, development, persistence, trial and error.A lot of the inspiration for my work comes from the photographs that I take whilst out kayaking and walking along the coast and rivers of this beautiful County. Armonia De Luxe Piano Accordion, with Octave bass and Treble stops. (case) This accordion was previously owned by Joan Alexis. Joan Alexis was born in the 1920s to a theatrical family who toured around the world playing to audiences in major venues. Joan followed on in their tradition and, still only a teenager, was an accomplished accordion player. She joined her parents' act that was then called the Isolde Trio. When older, she became a solo performer, mostly working in London's West End including the London Palladium. Joan also sang and danced, appearing in numerous pantomimes as principal boy. Being so talented and very beautiful she was always in great demand and worked in various revues on the west end stage with many famous names of the time including Lesley Henson and Stanley Holloway. In 1951, Joan married Carroll Gibbons, the American composer, pianist, conductor and broadcaster. Carroll was very well known and it was his orchestra that was resident at the London's Savoy Hotel in the 1930s, '40s and early '50s. The orchestra was called The Savoy Orpheans. One of Carroll's best-loved compositions was Garden in the Rain. Carroll died in the late 1950s and it was then that Joan picked up the accordion again and played in France and various cabaret venues in London. She began to compose music for various shows and recordings and wrote music for 'Windfalls', a children's animation series on ITV. Joan died in 2009. She had owned three previous accordions, two of which were given away, with this one the last remaining.

Robert Edward Dudley Ryder VC won at St Nazir signed 40th Anniv 1982 Operation Chariot St Nazaire FDC. He commanded a force of small unprotected ships in an attack on a heavily defended port and led H.M.S. Campbeltown in under intense fire from short range weapons at point blank range. Though the main object of the expedition had been accomplished in the beaching of Campbeltown, he remained on the spot conducting operations, evacuating men from Campbeltown and dealing with strong points and close range weapons while exposed to heavy fire for one hour and sixteen minutes, and did not withdraw till it was certain that his ship could be of no use in rescuing any of the Commando Troops who were still ashore. That his Motor Gun Boat, now full of dead and wounded, should have survived and should have been able to withdraw through an intense barrage of close range fire was almost a miracle. Good condition. 1977 Anthony Zemaitis Custom electric guitar, made for Richard Scrace and inscribed 'R A S, Custom 1977' to the engraved truss rod plate, below a 'Z' maker's plaque to the top of the head, 24 fret ebony fingerboard, 'SG' type mahogany neck through design body with natural maple top, classic Zemaitis bridge and engraved stopbar, Gibson 496R and 490R zebra humbucker pickups with alnico 2 magnets, upper switch to reverse the pickup phase and the lower coil tap for both, within a bespoke fitted hard case Provenance: This guitar is being sold on behalf of Richard Scrace who ordered this guitar from Tony Zemaitis in January 1977. The guitar is sold with a complete set of hand-written letters and receipts from Tony, documenting the entire build of the guitar, from first specification right through to collection. Personal letters to this effect were typical of Tony when making guitars for his clients, as he always had a close relationship with those he made guitars for. It is common knowledge that he would not build a guitar for anyone he did not like! Richard supplied his own pickups and Grover tuners to be fitted, which is talked about in the letters. The pickups that are currently on the guitar, are later replacements, which were fitted twelve years ago. Danny O'Brien, famous for engraving all of Tony's guitars (the truss-rod cover and stopbar on this example), is mentioned in the letters. The 'SG' shape body is probably unique, however the vendor did state that another client had seen this one being made in Tony's workshop and had been in discussions with Tony about making him one as well, albeit with an engraved top. This is an exceptional example, in very good condition, aside from the odd light blemish and mild surface buckle rash. Quotes from the letters: "Your box will be made with two acoustics, one for a certain "Harrison" and one for a band called 'Average Whites'" "Please stop sending me money!! he shouted as the white coats carted him off!!!" "Best wishes, Tony. P.S - Garden lock has just locked me out. It's one of those days so far. Not to worry!" "Will let you know final cost when I receive the machines and check with Danny on the engraving to ensure that all is settled before 29/3/77" "It looks absolutely super - virgin white I think the car industry would term it"
