Two Chinese watercolour paintings of a ceremonial procession, late 19th century,,29.5 x 65cm.Provenance: The vendors uncle, Edmund Quixley (1865-1942) was an engineer who worked for the British and American Tobacco Company. He went to China in approx 1922,. In the Second World War he was interned by the Japanese and died in Tientsin in 1942. On one of his return visits, the paintings were given to his children.
