An oak 'Mouseman' refectory table by Robert Thompson of Kilburn with adzed rectangular top and octagonal pillars, one carved in relief with a mouse, on plain H stretcher, 275 x 98cm, H.73cmOverall in good if used condition, colour is a rich golden brown, top has some scuffing and minor scratching commensurate with use along with an oval bleached stain in one corner, underframe equally with light wear from use but no real faults noted.PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place. Robert Mouseman Thompson (1876-1955): An English Oak Panel Back Chair, carved top rail and uprights, the back carved with a galleon and FR 1932, slung leather seat, on octagonal front legs, with carved mouse trademark, 97cm highFrank Roberts (1880-1960) was an accountant and had an office at 22 High Peter Gate, York. It is thought Mr Roberts did some accountancy work for Robert Thompson.Expected wear and marks to the hide leather seat. Water marks to the panel back.
