Set of eight oak dining chairs by Robert "Mouseman" Thompson of Kilburn the backs with an unusual design with shaped top rails and double shaped splats, faceted turned and block legs joined by stretchers, mouse trademark carved in to the back leg of one chair, padded cow hide seats. PROVENANCE; Said to have been part of a larger special order placed by Reeds School, Cobham in the mid 1930s and used at the school until 2007. They have been well used in the last 70 years and show the inevitable signs of wear and repair but it is a tribute to Thompsons that they have survived such hard use so well.
