Robert Mouseman Thompson of Kilburn, an oak dining table and six chairs, the oblong dining table on six octagonal baluster supports with floor stretchers, carved with a mouse, 75cm high, the top 200 x 105cm; the side chairs with panel backs and carved with a crest and a motto ‘Che Sara Sara’, leather seats and octagonal baluster supports, each carved with a mouse. The crest and motto are those of RUSSELL. They pertain to the Dukes of Bedford and other noble branches of that Russell family but are likely to have been carved here for a customer of Mr Thompson.
