Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson of Kilburn, an Arts and Crafts carved oak monks armchair, the monogrammed shield back splat and side panels of Yorkist or Lancastrian roses, supporting a curved arm rail with carved heads to the crest rail, the leather seat raised on octagonal section baluster legs united by an X stretcher, 80cm high
A collection of Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson oak panelling, comprising twenty nine large panels with simple linen fold detailing, 165cm x 20cm, twenty nine slender double grooved panels, 164cm x 10cm (without flange), two of these pieces are embellished with a mouse, five later oak panels made to match but not by Mouseman, other matched panelling and a carved oak plaque stating 'This panelling a Thank offering to almighty god for countless mercies is the gift of Mrs Alfred Dawson who, for more than seventy years, worshiped in this church, he ever liveth to make intersection for us'. The vendors father purchased the panelling 25-30 years ago but does not know where from. The panelling was fitted into a house near Leeds but was removed two years ago.
A Robert Mouseman Thompson oak bedside corner cupboard, the open front with two shelves, flanked by small panels, at the bottom the Mouse signature, the front with the initials M.B. for Maude Buckley of Saddleworth, Yorkshire, maximum width 53.5cm, height 66cm. (See illustration) Condition Report: in good condition no signs of worm, solid with firm joints. Maude Buckley family were avid patrons of Thompson. Living in Saddleworth Yorshire, they apparently furnished their house with his work.
