Samoa. 1939 25th Anniversary of New Zealand Control, an unusual collection with the set in mint singles and imprint blocks, six used sets plus extras, numerous First Day Covers some with village cancels (some of these signed by the postmasters). Just a little toning in places. We also note an NZ OHMS envelope with a blown-up bromide of the Stevenson stamp affixed to the front, the intent of which we do not comprehend! Gruzinsky painting; issued by various publishers, including: Izdanie M.V. Petrova, Aktsionernoye obshestvo Granberg in Stockholm, Stengel & Co., Richard, Otto Renar, Knackstedt & Nather, Scherer, Nabholz & Co. The sizes vary between 139 x 89 mm and 141 x 100 mm;c) 9 black and white postcards with photographs of Russian military ships, issued by Ye. Ivanov in Revel, N. Apostoli, tovarishestvo Golike & Wilborg.d) 6 color and black and white postcards depicting Russian Emperors and members of the Imperial Family, including those of Alexander I, Nicholas I, Alexander III, Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna with their daughters; issued by A. A FRAMED PORTION OF A ZEPPELIN brought down in Essex by the Aircraft Defences September 23/24, 1916. Sold for the benefit of the L & N W R War Seal fund. In an oak frame professionally printed mount. The piece of metal is embossed "Zeppelin L32 1916 " hand written to the mount is inscribed "Zeppelin L32 was shot down by Frederick Sowrey FR F C aged 23, it crashed near Snails Farm, South Green", inner panel 15cm x 22cm
