A Geo V RN officer’s sword, almost straight, fullered blade 31½”, by Gieves, etched with crowned fouled anchor and knots, with R Arms near forte on one side and crowned GVR cypher on the other, all in roped foliate panels, regulation brass hilt, the guard with turn down inner portion which locks to scabbard, and incorporating crowned fouled anchor, lion’s head pommel and backstrap, in its ornamental brass mounted leather scabbard with 2 rings. Near VGC, retaining all original hilt and scabbard plating and some blade polish (some rust speckles to blade). Plate 7
A late Vic 1821 pattern light cavalry officer’s sword, almost straight, fullered blade 35”, by Hawkes & Co, Piccadilly London, no 3562 on backstrap, etched on both sides with flat topped crowned VR cypher in scrolled panels, and R Arms with supporters and “To The Queen” at the forte on one side, regulation steel hilt with knucklebow and quillon, side loop and 2 sidebars, diced pommel and lower part of backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings and WM throat. Arms, “Ubique” in Union wreath, and cannon, and on the other side winged lightning with “Royal” and “Artillery”, all in scrolled floral panels, plated hilt with knucklebow, sideloop and 2 sidebars, stepped pommel, chequered backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip. New Condition (no scabbard).
A Vic 1857 pattern Engineer officer’s sword, slightly curved, fullered blade, 33”, etched with grenade, crowned R Arms with supporters and motto, and crowned VR cypher near forte, on one side, and winged lightning and “Engineers” (no “Royal”) on the other, all in scrolled “pineapple” panels, regulation pierced brass honeysuckle guard, chequered pommel, and thumbpiece to backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its nickel plated (worn) scabbard with 2 rings. Ireland, 11 Ellis’s Quay, London, etched with crowned VR cypher and wreaths on both sides in panels, with scrolls at forte, regulation steel hilt with sideloop and incorporating crowned harp, stepped pommel, plain backstrap, wire bound fishskin (worn) grip, in its nickel plated steel scabbard (plating dull) with 2 rings. Basically GC (blade and hilt heavily cleaned overall). Plate 7

A fine quality DB 12 bore percussion sporting gun by R Ancell of Perth, 46” overall, well rebrowned twist barrels 29”, the top rib engraved in gothic script “R. Ancell, George Street, Perth”, the breech tang engraved with scrolls and vignette of a partridge in undergrowth, the signed back action locks finely engraved with beaded borders and scenes of pheasants and lapwings in a heathland setting, the unusual long nosed hammers in the form of winged serpents, the dark walnut halfstock having chequered wrist (worn), with steel mounts including trigger guard engraved with capercaillie, and butt plate tang with heron in reeds, the original brass mounted ramrod having concealed worm.
