A French gilt metal and enamelled desk standish, circa 1870, with lidded ovoid inkwell decorated with floral painted band within enamel bead borders to waist on a royal blue enamel ground with bright-cut trailing vine decoration, supported within open scroll frame above conforming oval pen dish and on four foliate cast trefoil feet, 14.5cm wide.
An English verge pocket watch movement, now in a silver coloured metal skull form case, with finely pierced tulip pillars and chain fusee with foliate pierced back cock beside silvered regulation dial to backplate, signed 'H. Godfrey, London', now with silvered Roman numeral champleve dial and in later skull form case with hinged jaw section to reveal dial, movement, 3.7cm diameter. Henry Godfrey is recorded in Britten's 'Old Clocks & Watches and their Makers' as working 1685-1707.
A Continental enamel set silver coloured metal small boudoir portico timepiece, the Swiss made five-bar gilt cylinder watch movement with gilt Roman numeral dial set into elaborate enamel bezel and foliate engraved drum with faceted ruby glass finial, the base with twin column uprights and lacquered enamel rosette decorated circular platform, with pierced gallery apron and on scroll feet, 15.5cm high.
Geo Wadham, Paris. A mid 19th century French gilt metal and porcelain mounted figural mantel clock, surmounted by a figure depicting the arts, the rectangular and shaped base with inset porcelain panels painted with floral sprays, with gadrooned edge and foliate decorated feet, having a 8.5cm. enamel face signed 'Geo Wadham, Paris', the circular twin-drum movement with outside countwheel striking to a bell, 38cm. high.
Thos Ellis, Plymouth. A 19th century French alabaster and gilt metal mounted mantel clock, surmounted by an urn finial, flanked by putti holding trumpets, with applied musical trophy decoration, the 9cm. dial with gilt Arabic numerals, signed 'Thos Ellis, Plymouth', the circular twin drum movement striking to a bell, raised on a giltwood base, contained under a glass dome, 48cm. high.
A fine pair of Japanese gold lacquer and shibayama vases, with silver coloured metal mounts to the rims and feet, each vase intricately inlaid with ivory, mother of pearl, coral and semi precious stones. One side with two figures beneath trees with hills in the distance, the reverse with birds in flight and beneath flowering shrubs, the gold ground with delicate tooled paulownia scrolls and leaves to the shoulders, Meiji 1868-1912. 15cm.
