A COACHBOARD "Royal Mail Lines Special Train". Lettered in cream shaded black on a central dark blue panel, with the two ends displaying a flag featuring a gold crown on a red cross and white background. 311/4"x4", with metal ends and in good, original condition. As carried on boat-trains to Southampton. This board was retrieved from Nine Elms depot.
A LNER Signalbox Board "RICHMOND". An ex NER cabin at the end of the Branch from Eryholme on the East Coast Main Line between Northallerton and Darlington. It closed in 1969. Wood with metal letters, 51"x12", face-repainted. The left end rim missing, the bottom rim damaged.
A WORKSPLATE "Greenwood & Batley Limited No.1746 Built 1941 Leeds". As carried by the 3' gauge 4 wheel 80 H.P. OHWE locomotive dispatched to Richard Thomas & Co. Ltd, Irthlingboro Mines on 27th April 1941, becoming their "No.6". It was rebuilt to a 4-wheel battery electric in July 1964, then went to W.T. Sheppard & Sons, Wellingboro' in March 1967 for scrap. On 28th October 1999 it went to European Metal Recycling at Kingsbury. Oval cast brass, 91/2"x53/4". Unrestored.
An aluminium lion and wheel emblem from E3100, the BR Class AL3 BoBo 3300 H.P. OHWE built by English Electric as Works No. 2942 at Vulcan Foundry as E278, emerging to traffic on 20th June 1962. Originally it was intended to have lower gearing and be numbered E3305 but this did not happen. In March 1969 it went to Bury Steam shed for storage, then in December 1969 it went on loan to Derby Research Department and on to Rugby Testing Station in July 1970. In August 1971 it went to Doncaster for refurbishment, returning to traffic in March 1972 and renumbered 83015 on 11th October 1973. In January 1982 it went into store at Willesden and was withdrawn on 17th July 1983 to provide spares for 83012. However, it was instead put back into service for E.C.S. workings in and out of Euston station. Final withdrawal came on 25th February 1988 and it eventually went to Basford Hall Sidings at Crewe, moving to the Electric Traction Depot in April 1989 for long term storage. On 5th April 1993 it went by road to M.C. Metal Processing in Glasgow and was cut up by 20th April 1993. The emblem is face-polished but with plenty of dirt in the cracks, and with a dirty ex-loco back.
A SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE "45531". As carried by the ex LNWR 'Claughton' 4-6-0 built at Crewe in June 1921, LNWR 517. It was renumbered 6027 in September 1926, then rebuilt as Works No. 103 in 1933 under Lot 95 as a 'Patriot' class locomotive becoming LMS 5531 in 1934. It was named "SIR FREDERICK HARRISON" in 1937, and received a No.2A boiler and double chimney in 1947 becoming Class 7P. In 1948 it became BR 45531, was a longtime Edge Hill engine until a move to Carlisle Upperby in September 1963, and was withdrawn on 30th October 1965 to be cut up by G.H. Campbell of Airdrie by March 1966. The plate is face-repainted only and repaired by BR with two metal back supports.
A Great Eastern Railway Signalbox Board "NEEDINGWORTH JUNCTION". Wood with the metal letters standing proud of the backplate. Made in two parts, 76"x121/2" and 52"x121/2", face-repainted only. This cabin was between St. Ives and Somersham, and was the junction for the line to Ely via Sutton. It was built by Saxby & Farmer in 1878 and closed on 10th June 1965.
A GWR stewards enamelled on brass circular lapel badge "Great Western Railway 502" (Froggatt Plate 27, right middle, 11/4" diameter, enamelled black on white, vgc); together with a "GWR Refreshment Department" circular bright metal meal token, just over 1" diameter, vgc.
A LOCOMOTIVE HEADBOARD, metal painted with the EIIR Royal coat of arms. These headboards were carried by a number of special trains run in conjunction with the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth in 1952. In fine, ex-loco condition, lettered on the back "Return To D.M.P.S. Kings X No.1" and complete with its back bracket.
A London & North Western Railway Fletcher's metal cased signal repeater. The brass front is clearly lettered "Signal Repeater Fletcher's System L&NW Ry Tele. Dept. Stockport No.1082". A brass miniature Home signal is displayed behind the glazed brass-rimmed description face. 93/4" tall. In superb condition.
A SMOKEBOX NUMBERPLATE "62015". As carried by the (LNER) K1 Class 2-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive's Queens Park Works as Works No.26619, and emerging to traffic on 7th July 1949. Latterly a March; Stratford; Retford; Doncaster and Frodingham engine, it was withdrawn from the latter on 25th July 1965 and cut up by Drapers of Hull in November 1965. The plate is face-repainted only and repaired by BR with a metal plate on the back.
A Midland Railway Signalbox Board "NEWLAY". Wood with metal letters and rounded ends, 39"x9", in original condition, a little wear to the top left rim. A signal cabin on the Leeds to Skipton line. Newlay & Horsforth station opened as "Newlay" in 1846; was renamed "Newlay For Horsforth" in 1875; "Newlay And Horsforth" in 1889; "Newlay" in 1961, and closed in 1965.
A London & South Western Railway large, tall neck 3-aspect HANDLAMP. The body, stamped "L&SWR", bears a metal plate "PINHOE". The reducing-cone, also stamped "L&SWR", bears a brass "E" (Eastleigh) plate. Complete with pie-crust top; 3 back wire handles; vessel; SR brass/ceramic burner; reflector; and all glasses. In fine, original condition, mostly stripped of paint. Pinhoe station, between Exeter Central and Whimple, opened in 1871, was closed in 1966 but re-opened in 1983.
A 19TH CENTURY WALNUT SIDE CABINET, with gilt metal mounts, the top with re-entrant corners, crossbanded in amboyna within box and ebony stringing, over two doors centred by Sevres type portrait plaques, each with ribbon cresting, between glazed doors flanked by ebonised pilasters with Corinthian capitals on turned feet, 72.5in. (184cms) wide
A DOULTON LAMBETH BACHELOR'S TEA SERVICE, with silver mounts, of compressed circular form, the stoneware body incised with stylised plant forms and lobed girdle, in blue and green glaze, comprising teapot, sugar and cream, impressed marks and assayed London 1876 (later white metal mount to damaged spout)

A PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY FRENCH CLOISONNE AND GILT METAL NINE-LIGHT CANDELABRA, the flower cast sconces, stepped brackets supported by celestial dragons and blossom branches, each resting in an ovoid vase, decorated in cloisonne enamels of butterflies and birds amidst blossom and flowers in blue reserve against a black ground decorated overall with flowers, on a pierced skirt foot raised on four scroll feet, 27in. (68.5cms) high
Four mid 19th century mother of pearl mounted purses, to include: one carved in relief with a man singing while his lady sits playing a guitar, 7.5cm wide, another with diamond and bead diaper, 7.5cm wide another diamond diaper carved with central white metal shields, the last inscribed 'Mrs ET Morgan' on the plain side, 9cm wide (4)
