A fine quality Japanese cloisonné small lidded pot by TakaharaMeiji period, the five shallow lobed body with brass C-scrolls and circles of floral and butterfly decoration on varicoloured grounds, including silver sparkle under amethyst translucent enamel, interspersed with small circles and flower heads above a band of light and dark blue tongues with red central lines, the vertical neck rim with flattened edge and bands of blue and green, the conforming domed lid surmounted by a brass flower bud knob, signed to the base, 3½in.
