A boxed and cased Omega Constellation Coaxial Chronometer (Double Eagle co-axial escapement 100m/330 ft, serial no. to case 78061369), the 37 jewels movement adjusted five positions, complete with instruction book and cards referring. A wonderful quality gentleman's wristwatch with the renowned movement principle as invented by Dr. George Daniels, not prone to the regulation difficulties/fluctuations caused by the viscosity of the lubricant encountered with the friction of traditional watch movements.

A reward of up to £20,000 was offered to the person who found a solution to this pressing problem, which had great bearing on trade and the quest for Empire, the catalyst for which was Sir Cloudesley Shovell's disastrous shipwreck off the Scilly Isles on his return from the Siege of Toulon in 1707. It was John Harrison who finally met the criteria with his marine chronometer, although it was many years before he received his rightful reward, due to the prejudice of the Board of Longitude.
