Vintage signed 5.5 x 3.5 photograph depicting Montgomery, wearing his beret, standing in a three-quarter length pose alongside Brian Horrocks. Signed ('B. L. Montgomery, Field-Marshal') in bold black fountain pen ink to a light area at the base of the image. The official War Office photograph is dated 27th February 1945 to the verso and is further annotated in ink to the verso indicating that the image was captured in the Reich Wald and that one of the men in the background is Montgomery's ADC. Some traces of former mounting to the verso, and with a crease to the lower left corner, only slightly touching the signature. About VG

J., 1497/ 98 Augsburg – 1543 London, zug.JUNGER MANN MIT SCHWARZEM BARETTÖl auf Holz.19,7 x 14,6 cm.Das kleine Tafelbild, das einen jungen Mann in hellbraunem Rock mit weißem Hemd und schwarzem Barett zeigt, ist bereits mehrmals anlässlich des Besitzerwechsels besprochen und beurteilt worden. Tatsächlich stimmen die überwiegenden Bildelemente, wie Körperhaltung oder der einheitlich grüne Hintergrund mit Werken Holbeins überein. Dies zeigt sich im Vergleich mit Holbeins Bildnis des jungen Kölner Kaufmannes Hermann Wedigh von 1532. Auch dort finden wir das der Zeit gemäße Hemd mit gekräuseltem Kragen sowie die Kappe, die wie hier der Mode Englands entsprach. Denn der Kölner Handelskaufmann Wedigh war im Londoner Kontor tätig. Vergleichbar hat Holbein auch den jungen Danziger Kaufmann Georg Gisze in London in dem bekannten Bildnis von 1532 gezeigt, heute im Berliner Museum Dahlem. Three Post-Second World War British Army Combat Helmets, two with camouflage covers, a British Turtle combat helmet later stencilled ARP, a US M1 combat helmet with swivel bails and back rim seam - lacks liner, a British Army camouflage smock with Parachute Regiment arm insignia and beret, and a buff wool tam o'shanter (8)The combat smock is in poor condition. The zipper is present but lacking its pull. The hem is frayed. The knitted cuffs have pieces missing and the main sleeve is torn and frayed where they are attached to the cuffs. There is a 5cm tear to the back right panel.

A WWII 1940 DATED BATTLE DRESS JACKET AND BERET, the jacket is a 1937 pattern blouse and dated clearly inside 1940, it is a size 10 and designed to fit a soldier 6 foot 1 to 6 foot 2 inches tall, it has got Royal Warwickshire shoulder titles and formation patches on the arm sleeve, there are no visible date markings inside the beret but it does have a Royal Warwickshire badge on the front, the jacket has post war buttons and appears to be Greek Army battledress jacket with insignia added for reenactment Customers must satisfy themselves prior to sale in regards to conditions and authenticity, viewing is advised, condition reports are available on request
