The following lot belonged to Cmdr E A Harbord RN, an early-20th century naval officer's cocked hat and epaulettes contained in a fitted tin hat box by Gieves, Matthews & Seagrove Ltd, bearing metal name plate E A Harbord, a wool beret and a contemporary photograph of Mr Harbord in dress uniform.

Beswick Ware, An Art Deco style wall mask, lady with orange curled hair and black beret, stamp and design number 314, 24cm high and another with yellow hair, design no. 197, 6.5cm high CONDITION REPORT: Both masks in good condition - no damage or restoration. (smallest has a tiny glaze chip on tip of nose). The smaller one has more noticeable crazing with some light staining.

Upon his move to New York in 1927, Horst began to collaborate with Coco Chanel, developing a professional and personal relationship that would last decades. Known for his glamorous shots of fashionable women, Horst is considered a master of the medium, receiving in 1989 the Lifetime Achievement Award of The Council of Fashion Designers of America, and, in 1996, the Master of Photography Award from the International Center for Photography. CONDITION The print appears in overall very good original condition. Hinged twice at the top. Several horizontal lines of surface dirt at either central edge.
