WW2 British Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers Air Landing Maroon Beret, very good example of the classic WW2 maroon beret issued to the British airborne forces. Fitted with brass REME kings crown cap badge. Leather trim and black cloth lining to the interior. Leather patch over the gromets and lining stamped with war department broad arrow and date letter “Z” (1945). Beret shows just light service wear.

1964 Dated Special Air Service (S.A.S) Beret, fine beige wool cloth with leather trim. Cloth lining having remains of makers details, however these are not clear, 1964 date with broad arrow stamp can clearly be seen. Some moth tracking and honest service wear. Generally a good example.

WW2 Lincolnshire Regiment British Officers Service Dress Full Uniform Attributed to Captain John Walter Womersley, Killed in Action on 14th November 1944 Serving with the 6th Battalion, Son of the Rt Hon Sir Walter James Womersley 1st Bt P.C Minister for Pensions During WW2, fine four pocket example with brass regimental tunic buttons. Officers bronze regimental collar badges and brass rank pips to the shoulders. Africa star medal ribbon to the breast pocket. Interior with standard lining. Inside pocket with tailors label having inked name and date “Nov 1940”; Officers standard service dress khaki trousers and officers private purchase beret with bronze officers cap badge. Cloth lining to the interior with tailors details of Bryants Grimsby. Captain John Walter Womersley was from Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire. He was killed in action serving with the 6th Battalion Lincolnshire regiment on 14th November 1944, aged 25. He is remembered with honour at Meldola War Cemetery, Italy. The 6th Battalion Lincolnshire regiment was involved in much of the heavy fighting during the Italian campaign, they were earlier in 1944 withdrawn back to Egypt due to heavy casualties, only to return to the Italian campaign and again see much of the heavy fighting against the heavily defended German enforcements in Northern Italy. His father was a well known figure in the city of Grimsby, becoming Mayor in 1922. A member of the conservative party he was elected for parliament in 1924. In 1939 he was appointed as Minister of Pensions, he was the only minister to hold his position throughout the length of WW2. He lost his seat in the 1945 general election, he is to date he remains the last conservative MP for the constituency of Grimsby.

Early Special Air Service (S.A.S) Beret, very interesting worn sand coloured beret with large type WW2 style embroidered winged dagger beret badge of the Special Air Service. The beret has brown leather trim and the side gromets have a brown leather panel. Un-marked black cloth lining to the interior of the beret. Top of the beret with typical WW2 spiral spun weave pattern. Some moth holes and wear.

Rare Officers Beret for the Polish 1st Independent Parachute Brigade, well worn example of the special pattern beret issued to the Polish Airborne forces in WW2. The grey beret is fitted with bullion embroidered beret badge and single metal star below. Ribbed cloth trim and painted gromets. Cloth lining in spiral pattern. The beret shows a lot of service wear with staining and some small moth holes. An excellent used example of a scarce item of WW2 airborne headdress.

Beret has black ribbed band and the interior lining is of a quilted cloth which is normally associated with headdress privately purchased by officers. Spiral pattern to the top of the beret. The beret shows expected service wear. No dates or markings visible.
