A rare original WWII Second World War 1944 dated SAS Special Air Service / Special Forces Supak maroon uniform beret. Retains the original Who Dares Wins badge to front. Beret dated 1944 to inside along with broad arrow and War Department markings. Rare. In the later stages of WWII the SAS adopted the Airborne maroon beret, rather than the sand / tan coloured beret they used at the start.

An incredibly interesting and rare piece of WWII Second World War history - a silver ladle from the home of Nazi Germany's Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop. The ladle being silver, with an eagle and swastika emblem to handle and makers marks for Krupp Berndorf to rear and ' Westerland - 1939 '. The ladle was liberated from Von Ribbentrop's home by a Major Holloway of the Intelligence Corps, who was part of the 26th FS Section with the 59th Infantry Division who captured him in 1945. Major Holloways' 1943 dated beret (with cap badge), uniform ' Intelligence Corps ' cloth title are also included, as well as some photographs from his collection. A rare and interesting piece of WWII Nazi Germany history. OTHER ITEMS FROM THE HOME OF VON RIBBENTROP CAN BE FOUND IN THE PREVIOUS LOT (549) AND THE NEXT LOT (551).

The beret being undated, but of WWII period, with an original cap badge to front ' London Scottish Strike Sure '. The brodie helmet undated but impressed ' B562SLN' to rim. Interesting pair.

Early Post WW2 Special Air Service (S.A.S) Beret, fine example of the beige wool beret with probably late WW2 period embroidered winged dagger beret badge with the motto “Who Dares Wins”. The beret has beige lining with black leather trim. Black leather rectangular patch behind the gromets. The beret shows some service wear with a few scattered areas of moth tracking.
Rare WW2 Period Special Air Service (S.A.S) Beret, very good example of a late WW2 period Special Air Service (S.A.S) troopers beret, the beige beret has original late WW2 pattern embroidered winged dagger insignia with motto “Who Dares Wins” to the centre. Brown leather trim which has cracked and worn. Original black cloth lined interior with rectangular leather patch sewn over the side gromets. The lining has typical loose stitching which is a common feature of wartime issue berets. Top of the beret has typical weave pattern. The beret does have scattered mothing and obvious service wear but still a very good example.
Artists Rifles (21st Special Air Service) cloth SAS formation sign. A scarce post 1956 example comprising the conjoined heads of Mars & Minerva in silver grey thread embroidered onto a black rectangle. Service wear In May 1956, arm and beret badges were reversed so SAS badge worn on beret & Artists on the arm.
