WWII & Post-WWII Second World War Medal group awarded to one 14472116 Sergeant Wallace John Chapman of 9 Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers. The medal group comprising; WWII Defence Medal, WWII War Medal, QEII General Service Medal with Canal Zone & Cyprus clasps, Suez Canal Zone medal, and National Service Medal 1939-1960. Also includes: his Allied Special Forces medal and Cadet Forces Medal ( both not in frame). Along with the official set of miniatures. All with original ribbons. Also includes a duplicate General Service Medal, Defence Medal and War Medal mounted on bar (these medals are presumed to be his 'wearing' set, whilst the framed set are his 'display' set). Personal effects from Chapman include his Soldier's Service & Pay Book, his Regular Army Certificate Of Service, boxes for some of the medals in the frame, his original George VI cap badged maroon Airborne uniform beret with parachute badge, and a later beret with George VI cap badge, and an Airborne related teddy bear in typical uniform. A hallmarked silver Masonic medal and another similar example (not silver) are also included. Consigned from family. Chapman served in the Gloucester Home Guard from 1943 until he became of age, when he then signed up to the General Service Corps in August 1945. For his work in the Home Guard he was issued the Defence Medal, and for his Army work he was awarded the War Medal. He saw active service in the Suez Canal Zone from 1951-53. His Certificate of Service shows he was discharged on 22nd August 1957.

Lionel Ellis ARCA (1903-1988) was an important twentieth-century painter, illustrator, engraver and teacher who specialised in portraits, as well as equestrian and floral subjects. He taught at Wimbledon School of Art between 1937 and 1968 and lived in Headley, Surrey. The pictures offered here were formerly in the collection of his partner, fellow artist Barbara Shaw. A collection of military hats and helmets, including beret with gilt bullion badge for the Queen's Regiment, a beret with applied badge for the Black Watch, caps with RAF and further badges, two Scottish berets, one with applied Argyll and Sutherland badge, a Manchester City Police cap, a Lancashire Constabulary police helmet, two tropical type helmets, one with applied badge for the 96th regiment, a naval cap with H.M.S Hermes Tally, a 1980s NATO combat helmet with desert camouflage, etc.Additional InformationAll of the helmets and hats with general age wear through being loose in a box or being worn and used. The modern GSMK 6 helmet with ink name which has been scratched out to the elastic stretcher. The Lancashire Constabulary helmet rather grubby and dusty and with some scuffs and marks to the surface, one of the RAF caps is heavily marked and worn on the underside of the brim and around the interior and has started to peel on the interior and the label is lacking. One of the green berets and one of the caps with some slight moth damage. Another green beret with some ink marks. Another green beret lacking most of its internal liner. One of the green officer's caps is heavily worn internally with the leather brim particularly loose throughout most of it and beginning to perish, some moth damage to the green material on this helmet. The two white and the beige coloured helmets are grubby and with wear at edges.
Harry Andrews signed 5x4 album page dated 1975. Harry Stewart Fleetwood Andrews, CBE (10 November 1911 - 6 March 1989) was an English actor known for his film portrayals of tough military officers. His performance as Regimental Sergeant Major Wilson in The Hill alongside Sean Connery earned Andrews the 1965 National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actor and a nomination for the 1966 BAFTA Award for Best British Actor. The first of his more than 80 film appearances was in The Red Beret in 1953. Good condition. All autographs come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
