A 40 note Rossi & Spinelli hand-wound barrel piano, converted from automatic to manual operation and re-marked with new tunes and re-pinned by Colin and Milly Williams. In a typical veneered case with a part-glass front panel and shaped pediment and decorative design to the front panels. As the piano was not sold with the original song sheet, a copy of an 'East Anglian Automatic Piano Company' tune-sheet has been inserted in the pediment, with a new song list, by Colin Williams. From the original tunes/pinning it is likely that the piano passed through the East Anglian Automatic Piano Company.Bought from Christie's at auction, this piano was slightly distorted due to its original design. In order to take the piano into the streets to raise money for charity, Colin and Milly converted this piano from automatic to manual; removing the clockwork motor of the piano and producing a new handle cast from a "Wintle handle" design mould. The piano does however still feature the original handles and dials. The barrel was removed, with the pins stripped and the barrel re-turned, i.e. machined to make it concentric, and then covered with scotch glue and new paper. Colin and Milly selected and arranged 1890, 1900, 1910 tunes, and then marked and pinned the barrel.DIMENSIONS:Height 152 cmDepth 57cm (front to back)Width 92cmOverall Width (including handles) 98cmSONGS:1.
