One bottle Scottish Cream blended scotch whisky, blended and bottled by the Kinloch distillery company limited Glasgow, 25 and 2/3rds fl. ozs, 70% proof. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Labelling is in very poor condition with much losses, shoulder label for date is predominantly lost and illegible. Level is just below upper shoulder.

A mounted and framed display to include: a note on 'Scotch Corner Hotel' stationary bearing a handwritten message in the hand of Keith Richards to read 'Dear Rosalind, Thanks for the sweet letter. Autograph enclosed Love Keith Richards. Also to include envelope with handwritten address, also believed to be in the hand of Keith Richards. Frame to measure approx 15 x 31".

To the Right Honorable Lord Dundas, This plate of the Newbus Ox is with his Lordship's permission respectfully dedicated..., The Ox was bred by William Hutchinson Esq. of Egleston near Barnard Castle. He was out of a Highland Scotch cow which when fat and slaughtered weighed only 24 stone 10lbs (14 to the stone). His sire was a Grandson of Old Favourite belonging to Charles Collins Esq. of Ketton and was fed by Thomas Wilkinson Esq. of Newbus Grange near Darlington in the county of Dur[ham], Published Darlington, G. Byers & Co., July 21st. 1812, uncoloured mezzotint after Thomas Weaver, thread margins, slight dust soiling, very small repaired tear to lower right corner, 505 x 610 mm, framed and glazed Rothamsted Collection number 139. Translated from the Italian of the Abb‚ Spallanzani, 2 volumes, new edition, corrected and enlarged, 1789, scattered spotting, contemporary calf, joints cracked, some labels lacking to spines, 8vo The first title is a rare work by Loudon; inspired by a trip to Pinner whilst convalescing, he "was impressed by the inferiority of English to Scottish farming. He accordingly persuaded his father to join him in taking a lease of Wood Hall, near Pinner, and published a pamphlet entitled 'An Immediate and Effectual Mode of Raising the Rental of the Landed Property in England' [published in 1808]. In 1809 he rented the large farm of Tew Park, Oxfordshire, where he took pupils in agriculture, and by 1812 he had made a profit of 15,000l. He then threw up his farm, dismissed his pupils, and started on a continental tour." - DNB. (1)
