A late Victorian circa 1870s and onwards handwritten manuscript combination recipe & map book. With elaborate calligraphic title page, dated September 22 1871 and named to A. (Annie) Arnold. Containing approx. twenty-three hand-drawn and hand coloured maps of South America, New Zealand, England, Italy and the United States. To the opposing page of each map are recipes, either pasted in from newspaper clippings or written by hand, including preserving instructions, recipes for Scotch bread, pork pies, buttered eggs, Jubilee pudding etc. Appearing to have been used for recipes until circa 1900s. Bound in half morocco with marbled boards. An interesting example of Victorian manuscript ephemera. 8vo.
