1959 Lambretta 150 Transmission: manualMileage:261Before World War II, Ferdinando Innocenti founded a successful engineering company making steel pipes and joints still used today for scaffolding and named it 'Tubi Innocenti'. Just after the war he saw the potential for an economic means of transport and created the Lambretta, so called because its factory was in the east suburb of Milan, Lambrate. Lambretta had a tubular frame, to which the body panels were fixed and the engine was a small single cylinder two stroker. In 1957, the Lambretta, which up to then was always grey, was enriched with a two-tone finish: the two rear lids, the front and the handlebar nacelle could be painted in Light Blue, Emerald Green, English Blue or Deep Red. The scooter we are offering comes somewhat reluctantly from Lady McAlpine who has fond memories of careering about the country behind her first love (whom she married) on an identical Lambretta, known as the Gremlin as it was constantly in need of attention. This one has never caused trouble but has now been more or less on display for several years. Restored some years ago, it is painted in the attractive two-tone colours of blue and cream with matching seats. Powered by a two-stroke 150cc engine, this iconic and rare motorcycle would grace any collection or would look great as a 'prop' for a café or restaurant and although running and driving, may need some further recommissioning should you wish to use it on the road. Very chic and retro with charm to boot! Lady McAlpine is only parting with it because she feels it should be driven and she feels happier in a car these days. Consignor Mathew Priddy Guide Price £3,500-£4,000 *Interested parties should note that this Lambretta will require recommissioning and is currently not running

1966 Raleigh Runabout Registration Number: HUO 39D Frame Number: 3R1418 Raleigh, Britain's best known and longest surviving bicycle manufacture, also made motorcycles from 1905 into the 1930s. More recently , the Nottingham company offered a range of mopeds, plus a scooter in the late 1950/1960s. The majority of the moped range were built under licence Motobecane Mobylettes. The first of the latter was the RM4 Automatic, produced in 1961, while Raleigh first applied the Runabout name to the RM6 which was built in various versions from May 1963 until February 1971, when production of Raleigh mopeds ceased. This machine is completely original and unrestored, largely assisted no doubt by spending over 40 years on display in a butcher's shop window, of all places. With a drop of fresh fuel, the engine sprung into life and we understand runs nicely. The bike is sold on a bill of sale with a copy of older tax discs, but without V5C.
