2002 BMW C1 125ccMake: BMW Model: C1Year: 2002Mileage: 7826VIN: WB10191A1YYA08212Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: OY52YUBTransmission: Contact AuctioneerThe C1 was an unusual scooter, built by Bertone for BMW in small numbers from 2000 to 2002. The bike, with its curved overall roof, offered much better weather and safety protection than most two-wheeled machines and was intended to appeal to car drivers. This example, a 'Family's Friend' 125cc model, registered in September 2002, is showing just 7824 miles on its odometer. It is MoT'd until March 2023, with no advisories noted during the recent test. The vendor tells us it has also been recently serviced (at 7791 miles in November 2021). Features of this bike include an aftermarket remote/alarm (with instructions) and extra BMW top box. The paperwork folder includes the present V5C and copies of some past ones, as well as the current MoT certificate plus ones from 2006 to 2008, 2010 to 2011, and 2014 to 2017. There's also a large stack of invoices dating back to when the C1 was new, as well as photocopy of a BMW service and technical booklet and a June 2000 Motorcycle Sport & Leisure magazine article on the C1.

1962 Velocette LE 192cc. Registration number 189 BWM. Frame number 506334 (not found). Engine number 60273 (not found).Launched in 1948, as the 'motorcycle for everyman', the Velocette LE addressed the criticisms most often levelled at motorcycles - that they were noisy, dirty and needed special clothing to ride - achieving impressive levels of silence, comfort and practicality. Sadly for the LE, its arrival coincided with the start of the scooter boom; asked to compete against Italian style, Velo's ugly duckling never stood a chance, even after the sidevalve flat twin's performance had been boosted by a capacity increase from 149 to 192cc in 1950. It was, however, a big success with UK Police forces - for whom its attributes were more important than its appearance - gaining the sobriquet 'Noddy Bike' as a result.BWM has tax disc history going dated to 1997-2001, 2005-2006 and then 2011-2012, the MOT history goes back to 2010 at 38,297 miles through to 2016 at 39,059 showing very limited use each year. Our vendor bought it in 2019 and the mileage is 39,077 today.Offered with the V5C, old MOT's, tax discs and some photographs, this LE should only need light recommissioning to get running.

Lot 506

1960 BSA Sunbeam, 175cc, Registration number not registered. Frame number not found. Engine number S147. The BSA Sunbeam, also sold as the Triumph Tigress, was a scooter designed to have good performance and handling for the motorcycle enthusiast. The entry of the BSA group into the scooter field was announced by Edward Turner in October 1958. The design by Edward Turner drew on Triumph's long experience of building fast motorcycles, and was sold under two brand names to take advantage of established distribution networks. This badge engineering was one of the last uses of the Sunbeam marque. The differences between the BSA Sunbeam and Triumph Tigress were entirely cosmetic - the former in polychromatic green paint, also two-tone red and cream, with a BSA badge; the latter in a shell blue or mimosa and ivory (two tone) with Triumph badging. The scooter was available with a 250 cc four-stroke twin or 175 cc two-stroke single-cylinder engine. The 250 cc model was discontinued in 1964, the 175 cc model in 1965. Sold with a dating certificate from the Vintage Motor Scooter Club

Lot 514

1984 Benelli S125 Scooter. Registration number not registered. Frame number ME 10225. Engine number 1035Now Chinese owned, although still based in its home town of Pesaro, Benelli is best known for its Grand Prix successes of the 1950s/1960s when it secured two 250cc World Championships, and also for its outrageous six-cylinder road bikes of the 1970s. The Italian manufacturer has, of course, always produced less exotic fare such as the S125 motor scooter offered here. Many Italian motorcycle manufacturers tried climbing aboard the scooter bandwagon in the years immediately following WW2, sometimes with peculiar motorcycle/scooter hybrids, but none was a successful as either Vespa or Lambretta. The 125cc machine offered here dates from the period that Benelli was owned by Alejandro de Tomaso. The S125 weighs 90kg (198lb) and has a top speed of around 60mph. Purchased in its present condition, this example displays a total of only 4,346km (2,700 miles) on the odometer and is believed un-restored. It will need recommissioning.Sold with the exhibit 168 display board from the Morbidelli Museum, an instruction manual and a Benelli document.

Lot 519

1950 Velocette LE, 149cc. Registration number AEH 200A. Frame number 7747. Engine number 7714.Launched in 1948, as the 'motorcycle for everyman', the Velocette LE addressed the criticisms most often levelled at motorcycles - that they were noisy, dirty and needed special clothing to ride - achieving impressive levels of silence, comfort and practicality. Sadly for the LE, its arrival coincided with the start of the scooter boom; asked to compete against Italian style, Velo's ugly duckling never stood a chance, even after the sidevalve flat twin's performance had been boosted by a capacity increase from 149 to 192cc in 1950. Lot 521

C.1955 Isomoto 125cc. Registration number not registered. Frame number M23399. Engine number 81963.Nowadays Iso is best remembered for its muscular V8-engined Grifo supercar of the 1960s but the company's origins were more mundane. Renzo Rivolta's Isothermos company had begun life pre-war making refrigerators, turning to the manufacture of scooters and motorcycles after the war and thence to the highly successful Isetta 'bubblecar'. After the failure of its first scooter, the Furetto, Iso produced the Isoscooter and Isomoto lightweight motorcycle, both of which used a Puch-style 125cc 'split single' two-stroke engine. Although it was a major manufacturer with more than 2,500 agents in Italy and Europe, Iso had its sights firmly set on the Gran Turismo car market and ceased making two-wheelers in 1960. There is no history or paperwork with this unusual machine, although it appears a partial restoration has been untaken, Spicers recommend that recommissioning will be required

1959 Lambretta 150cc Li Series 1 - Low owner example - Full 3-year restoration- All matching numbers This original UK registered scooter underwent a complete restoration over the past three years as a retirement project by our Reigate vendor and has been a part of his collection ever since. Prior to his ownership, the bike was purchased by a gentleman in 1961 (pictured in the third-to-last photo) with the bill of sale included and subsequently shared it with his son. His son then painted the scooter black but it slowly became unused and into disrepair. Post-retirement, the current owner set about returning the bike to its former colour combination as well as restoring its original parts. The process of this recommission has been catalogued in great detail which is included in the history file along with photos of its life under the previous owner and his son. Assured that the bike is in superb running condition, it comes with a large variety of spares (see final two photos). Since restoration the scooter has covered fewer than ten miles with its original odometer being reused. With the V5c only showing three owners from new, this presents the perfect opportunity to purchase a low-owner example to be enjoyed in summer 2022. - Our buyers premium on all cars, motorbikes and scooters is 10% + VAT- We encourage any interested parties to inspect the vehicle on our viewing days and prior to sale on Tuesday 22nd to satisfy themselves on the vehicles condition, please check our buying terms and conditions for cars and bikes available online or via email. - Transportation options may be available, please contact us for a quote.Condition Report: The vendor highlighted that this is an original UK registered scooter - not an import.

Lot 1000

1963 Vespa GS160 Mk II - Originally Surrey registered UK Scooter- Registration number: 787 PG (unregistered with DVLA) - Vespa I.D number: IGM2323IOM VSBIT- Vin / Chassis Number: 0039924 - Engine number: VSB1M 0039744Introduced in 1962, the Vespa GS160 significantly moved await from the old GS150 design which incorporated mechanical advancements into a slimmer contemporary-looking design. By the time the GS160 came out however, the Scooter market was feeling the crunch, becoming less popular in the shadow of the motorcar. Due to this, less numbers were produced meaning that in todays market the combination of the scarcity and the fact it is regarded as one of the best Piaggo scooters ever produced means it is highly appreciated amongst enthusiasts. Despite no history file present with the vehicle, the vendor has a detailed account mentioned in the letter of sale from the previous owner explaining its previous life in Edinburgh. Despite the registration plate on the bike indicating it was firstly registered here in Surrey, 787 PG then made its way up north as it was bought in 1968 at the Pentland Garage in Loanhead, Scotland. It was then used as a commuter vehicle for the gentleman attending Edinburgh University. According to the letter, the previous owner stopped using the Scooter in 1972 which is backed up by a tax disc present with the vehicle (see final two photos). From this, it is likely the vehicle has had three owners however without a log book we are unable to guarantee this. Since 1972, the bike has always been dry-stored in a garage by both its Edinburgh owner and the current vendor. As a result, the Scooter is nicely preserved but it has been painted brown at some point by its previous owner from its original white - this has however helped conserve the body of the Scooter condition-wise. While the Scooter hasnt been started in a number of years, the engine does have compression. The appeal is that this is an original UK Scooter that has evaded being broken or shipped overseas since its life began in the sixties. Appearing unmodified, the scooter provides a superb base for restoration. Our Hampshire-based vendor is reluctantly parting ways to fund other projects providing a great opportunity for a Vespa exhaust to get ahold of a clean project. Note: This vehicle is being sold without a logbook, therefore, will be up to the new owner to register the vehicle for road-use. To satisfy your knowledge of the vehicles condition please come down to our viewing days as followed:Saturday 10am-2pmMonday 9pm-5pm Tuesday from 9am- Our buyers premium on all cars, motorbikes and scooters is 10% + VAT. - We encourage any interested parties to inspect the vehicle on our viewing days and prior to sale on Tuesday 22nd to satisfy themselves on the car's condition, please check our buying terms and conditions for cars and bikes available online or via email. - Transportation options may be available, please contact us for a quote.

1961 Vespa Douglas GS 150cc VS5- Quadrophenia genuine un-restored classic scooter.- Registration: 809 ARW- Frame number 0087304- Engine number 0089391.In 1961, Douglas stopped producing 125cc Vespas, replacing them with the Piaggio 150cc model. The GS was particularly popular amongst the healthy "mod" market, despite being imported from Piaggio. This attempt to amend declining sales along with various special editions made for some exciting designs, this 150cc GS being no different. This particular examples claim to fame is that it appeared in the world-famous film Quadrophenia, pictured here with Peter Fenton at the handlebars. According to our specialist consultant Bill personally provided this GS150 for the film and was ridden by actor Garry Cooper. This funky sixties icon is in original condition and is looking for a nice home, hopefully to be restored or displayed. This history file includes dated test certificates and an original registration book which have been well preserved by the former keeper.
