TWO ANTIQUE PERCUSSION BOXLOCK POCKET PISTOLS, the first has a round 56 bore 2¾'' screw off barrel which bears Birmingham pre 1855 proof marks but no makers name, it has a slab sided walnut butt, the action is defective, it is fitted with a replacement hammer, the percussion nipple is broken off and it bears an overall rust patina, the second pistol is also a percussion boxlock pistol fitted with an octagonal 56 bore 2¾'' screw off barrel which also bears Birmingham pre 1855 proof marks but no makers name, it has a brass action which is lightly engraved and a walnut butt fitted with a brass butt cap, its action is defective and there is a minor loss of wood where the butt joins the action
AN ANTIQUE 28 BORE FULL STOCKED PERCUSSION SINGLE BARREL HOLSTER PISTOL, fitted with a round 7¼'' barrel neatly converted from a flint and held to the stock with a single protected wedge, it bears no proof marks or markers name, however the top face of the barrel is engraved 'PASS KIVAP', It has a brass nose cap and a hinged rammer, the lock holds at half and full cock but the sear fails to release when the trigger is pulled unless the hammer is simultaneously held back, the chequered butt is fitted with butt cap to which is attached a swivel lanyard loop, this pistol was probably made in the Indian subcontinent but is of better quality than those normally encountered

A YIXING ZISHA FIGURE OF AN IMMORTAL, 17TH-18TH CENTURYChina, late Ming to early Qing dynasty. The finely modeled clay body is of a deep brown tone with shades of caramel brown throughout. Some highlights, such as the many holes in his gown, are neatly picked out in black lacquer.Condition: Superb condition with some old wear, soiling and minor firing flaws. The figure may once have held a separate stick or pole. The hardwood base is attached to the statue and may only be removed by a professional (we will under no circumstance attempt to remove it, even though a signature or inscription may be situated on the underside). The bowl with shallow rounded sides raised on a circular foot with a recessed base showing a Qianlong mark. The central medallion with a craggy rock, springing lingzhi, peaches on leafy branches, and a stylized character chun (for "spring") in the center. The exterior with a band containing the same elements. A LARGE PORCELAIN FAMILLE ROSE 'BAJIXIANG' TRIPOD INCENSE BURNERChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Apocryphal Jiaqing seal mark in a horizontal line in iron red. The globular body with pierced upright curved handles on each side and three stoutly rounded cabriole legs. The censer is sturdily potted and enameled on the body with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, Bajixiang, amidst lotus flowers and tendrils extending onto the legs, all reserved against a lime-green ground. Pink bats are flanking the handles, the waisted neck is encircled by floral scroll below a key-fret band on the galleried rim. With matching base and cover both beautifully carved from dark wood, the lid is flanked with a whitish jade handle with dark streaks.This incense burner is likely to have been part of a five-piece altar garniture set, known as the 'Five Offerings' (wugong 五供), which were widely used in Buddhist rituals to seek protection from the deities. In shape and decoration, the vessels included in these sets, which also comprised a pair of candlesticks and wine containers, recall those employed to perform ancestral sacrifices during the Shang and Zhou periods. Restoring the ancient Chinese ways through the reinterpretation of archaic forms was viewed by the Qing rulers as one way to reinstate the importance of performing filial acts, the core value of Confucian thought that legitimized the emperors' right to rule.Condition: Very good condition with some minor, age-related wear, some minor flakes and glaze chips. Shakyamuni is cast, seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base, the hands in bhumisparsa mudra, wearing a long flowing robe finely incised with foliate designs, richly adorned with beaded jewelry with turquoise, coral and glass inlays. The serene face with heavy-lidded almond-shaped eyes, circular urna, strongly arched eyebrows, hooked nose and bow-shaped lips forming a subtle smile is flanked by long ears decorated with inlaid, lotus-shaped earrings. The hair arranged in a high chignon behind the elaborate, seven-leaved crown with animal emblem. The base is not sealed.The sculpture elegantly depicts the moment in which Buddha Shakyamuni achieves enlightenment under the bodhi tree.
