6th VB King’s Liverpool Regiment Edwardian Officer’s helmet plate circa 1901-08. A fine scarce silvered example. Crowned star mounted with laurel sprays and Garter, the replacement crimson velvet centre with scroll “NEC ASPERA TERRENT” surmounting the rearing White Horse of Hanover. Mounted on the base of the spray, a tri-part scroll “THE LIVERPOOL REGIMENT”; drooping supplementary scroll below “6TH VOLUNTEER BATTALION”. Three loops to reverse. VGCHQ at 59/61 Everton Road, Liverpool. Transferred to Territorial Force as 8th Battalion 1st April, 1908.

Peter Andrew Beardsley MBE (born 18 January 1961 is an English former footballer who played as a forward or midfielder between 1979 and 1999. In 1987, he set a record transfer fee in the English game and represented his country 59 times between 1986 and 1996, once as captain, taking part in two FIFA World Cups (1986 and 1990) and UEFA Euro 1988. At club level, he played for Newcastle United, Liverpool and Everton, having also had spells with Carlisle United, Manchester United, Vancouver Whitecaps, Bolton Wanderers, Manchester City, Fulham, Hartlepool United and the Melbourne Knights. George Henry Camsell (27 November 1902 - 7 March 1966)was an English footballer who scored a club record 325 league goals in 419 games for Middlesbrough, and 18 goals in 9 appearances for England. His 59 goals in one season (1926-27) for Middlesbrough was a Football League record at the time, and has only ever be bettered within the English game by Dixie Dean of Everton in 1927-28. He also holds the highest goals-to-games ratio for England of anyone who has played more than a single international. Good condition Est.
