Some minor faults to a few but most are at least Fair-generally good. Also included are the first five issues of The Leeds United Collector from number 1 (May/June 2000) to number 5 (Jan/Feb 2001). Other items are Leeds Utd Subbuteo team with box and six Leeds away programmes including at Bolton 56/7, and 58/9, at Arsenal 56/7, Chelsea 59/60, Shef Wed 60/61 Cup and at Crystal Palace 64/5 Cup. Final item is Farsley Celtic v Tranmere Rovers programme, 23/11/74, FA Cup at Elland Road. Fair-generally good

An early England international cap awarded to Johnny Holt of Everton for four successive appearances v Scotland between 1891 and 1894,the purple cap inscribed in metal thread to the peak 1891-2-3-4Johnny Holt was born 10 April 1865 in Church, Lancashire. He stood only 5ft. but was a centre-half earning him the nickname "Little Everton Devil". He joined Everton from Bootle in the very first season of the Football League in 1888. In March 1890 he became the first Everton player to win an England cap when he was picked to play against Wales, the first of 10 appearances, and was a member of the club's first Championship winning team in 1890-91.Provenance:By family descent.
A very fine quality Austrian silver cigarette case with enamel decoration of a football match being a presentation to the England international Edgar Chadwick in 1900,the reverse inscribed PRESENTED TO MR EDGAR CHADWICK AS A MEMENTO OF FRIENDSHIP, GRATITUDE AND HIGH ESTEEM, FROM THE DEUTSCHER FUSSBALLCLUB, MAY 1900, PRAGUE, Austrian .900 silver mark, 8 by 6.5cm., in original fitted case for Emil Jager, PragueIn May 1900 Edgar Chadwick was a Burnley player, although he had played his last game and would join Southampton in August. In the prime of his career Chadwick played for Everton where he made 270 appearances from the inauguration of the Football League in 1888 and until 1899. During that time he won 7 England international caps.He was in Prague having accepted an invitation to coach some players during the English close season. After his playing days, Chadwick became a pioneering English coach in continental Europe which included a spell as the Dutch national manager during which time he coached the side to a bronze medal at the Stockholm 1912 Olympic Games.
1933 F.A. Cup winner's medal awarded to Billy Cook of Everton,14ct. gold, the reverse inscribed THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, F.A. CHALLENGE CUP, 1932-33, WINNERS, EVERTON F.C., W. COOK, in original fitted caseBilly Cook played at right-back during Everton's 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the F.A. Cup Final at Wembley on 29th April 1933.Cook was born at Coleraine, Northern Ireland, 20th January 1909. In 1932 Everton signed the defender from Celtic where he had won a Scottish Cup winner's medal. Cook made 250 appearances for the Merseyside club and won a Championship medal in 1938-39. He also made 15 international appearances for Ireland. After the War, and having played for Wrexham, Ellesmere Port Town and Rhyl until 1947, he moved into management. He led a varied career which included spells as the national coach of Peru and Iraq, as well as Football League clubs Sunderland, Norwich City and others.Provenance:Bought at Christie's Glasgow, 10th December 1998, as lot 33.
