SHEFFIELD UNITED Home programme v Stoke 14/6/1947, late season-ending after the awful weather of Winter 1947 and the Title depended upon this game. If Stoke won this game they would be Champions for the first time in their history. A surprisingly low crowd of 30,000 watched the teams do battle.Scores were level at half-time (1-1) and a second half winner denied Stoke the title as Liverpool became Champions by one point from Man Utd and Wolves, hapless Stoke finished fourth and have still never won the Title. A crowd of 40,000 watched Liverpool defeat Everton 2-1 in the Lancashire Senior Cup Final awaiting the updates from Bramall Lane. Some creasing but no writing. Fair-generally good
