EVERTON - PRESTON 1938-39 Everton home programme v Preston, 15/4/1939. Everton were crowned champions if they won this game but it finished 0-0. Wolves defeated Charlton 3-1 which meant that they were six points behind with 3 games left ( 2 points for a win in those far off days). Wolves had the better goal average but Everton eventually prevailed despite losing their next game at Charlton. Tears along spine, no staple. Fair
