A scroll at the base, “ERIN GO BRAGH”. Complete with mirrored backing plate. Four screw posts to reverse. VGCInitially the 64th (Liverpool Irish) Rifle Volunteers based at 9 Everton Crescent, Liverpool. redesignated 18th (Liverpool Irish) Rifle Volunteer Corps in 1880, and the 5th (Irish) Volunteer Battalion, The King’s (Liverpool Regiment) in 1888.
6th VB King’s Liverpool Regiment Victorian Officer’s helmet plate circa 1888-1901.A fine scarce silvered example. Crowned star mounted with laurel sprays and Garter, the crimson cloth centre with gilt Old English scroll “NEC ASPERA TERRENT” surmounting the rearing White Horse of Hanover. Mounted on the base of the spray, a gilt tri-part scroll “THE LIVERPOOL REGIMENT”; drooping supplementary scroll below “6TH VOLUNTEER BATTALION”. Three loops to reverse. VGCHQ at 59/61 Everton Road, Liverpool. Transferred to Territorial Force as 8th Battalion 1st April, 1908.

A rare pair of Ray Clemence Adidas goalkeeping gloves worn during the 1977 epic Liverpool v's St Etienne European Cup Quarter Final on 16th March and the FA Cup Semi Final Liverpool v's Everton on 23rd April,the grey leather glove with red pimpled patches sewn onto the palms and back of the handThese gloves manufactured by Adidas were the very first pair of leather gloves issued to goal keepers at the time, unfortunately the fit was tight and the glove was surperseded by an alternative made in a wider fit with a woollen style palm.Provenance: obtained by the vendor directly from Ray Clemence in July 2017 from part of his private collection.
