Designer Fortuny (1871-1949) Five rare vintage early/mid 20th century Fortuny Italian curtains, red and cream lined and interlined printed cotton in classical 'Corone' pattern. Fortuny was renowned for his innovative printing techniques using natural dyes to produce distinctive designs. One pair width across gathered heading 60cms, length 150cms, plus three curtains width across gathered heading 75cms, length 280cms, all approximate measurements. Also five tie backs.Provenance: Originally purchased in Venice, then current owner purchased these curtains from a large house sale in Boston Massachusetts in 1980's.Condition commensurate with age, one curtain has some water damage on the lower section of approx 12 inches.
