Small Moritz Gottschalk Model 10, painted wooden blue roof dolls house with contents, German for the French market, circa 1905, the wooden framed house with paper red brick effect exterior, nine glazed windows with painted wooden surrounds and sills, two steps to front door with metal handle, blue pitch roof with clock pediment, and chimney, front opens in one wing to two rooms on two floors, with good original papers to walls and floors, original curtains and furniture. Bedroom: two soft gilt metal beds, cradle, dressing table, caged bird and chair, mirrored wardrobe, Parian-type doll and all bisque doll. Sitting room: Waltershausen hall table, settee, table with marble top and two chairs, two early glazed china shoulder head dolls in original clothes and more, (condition: normal wear, generally very good, dolls perfect, chimney replaced), see page 76 in ‘The Genius of Morritz Gottschalk’ by Evelyn Ackerman, for similar dolls house, 17” (43cm) tall, 12” (30cm) wide, 7 ½” (19cm) deep.
Moritz Gottschalk Model 9, painted wooden blue roof dolls house with contents, German, circa 1890, the wooden framed house with paper red brick and ochre paint exterior, two bay windows with two arched windows and glazed door above with balcony, on a green base with glazed front door and metal handle, blue pitch roof with two chimney’s, front opens in one wing to two rooms on two levels, original papers to walls and floors, lace curtains and furniture. Bedroom: includes wooden four-poster bed, wash stand with marble top, Waltershausen side-board, tin bath, gilt mirror, clock and more. Sitting room: Waltershausen bureau, settee, chairs, clocks, two all-bisque dolls and a glazed china shoulder head doll, (condition: good, normal wear, dolls perfect), see page 27 in ‘The Genius of Morritz Gottschalk’ by Evelyn Ackerman, for similar dolls house, 25 ” (63cm) tall, 17” (43cm) wide, 12” (30cm) deep.
A charming Moritz Gottschalk blue roof dolls house, German circa 1890, with stone and red brick paper lithographed exterior on a painted light blue base with three glazed windows all with painted red and cream moulded surrounds and sills and painted front door, pitched dark blue roof with two attic windows and two chimneys, front opens to two rooms on two levels with good original wallpapers, floors and curtains, (condition: good some slight fading, one window bar lacks paper bar, interior excellent), 23 ½” (60cm) tall, 12 ½” (32cm) wide, 8 ½” (21cm) deep.
‘Shamrock House’ a fine and early wooden dolls house, probably Irish, late eighteenth century, with painted stone exterior, the façade having large double bay, porch entrance with arched doorway, reverse painted glazed windows with painted window bars and curtains, moulded sills and painted key-stones, left side with single story annex, open doorway, and further glazed window, right side with detachable store-room, open window, door and inner partition, pitched painted black roof with tile effect and two chimney’s, the roof lifts of to reveal upper floor with two bedrooms and hall way with simple open doorways, first floor lifts of to reveal a further two rooms, three hallways, one with partially made staircase and annex, all with open doorways, main rooms with cut in fire-places, (condition: one key-stone and window sill edge replaced, another sill front missing, normal wear), together with small note of provenance, relating to maker, 10 ½” (27cm) tall, 20” (51cm) wide, 13” (33cm) deep
