A Jeanne Lafaurie couture embroidered ivory satin sheath, late 1950s, labelled, with integral tulle corset, pleated asymmetric shoulder strap, side slit to hem, embroidered overall with palmettes in ivory mohair, couched gold thread, rhinestone studs, bust approx 81cm, 32in, waist 61cm, 24in CONDITION REPORT: Overall impression is fresh and good, would benefit from cleaning. Embroidery is intact and good with occasional losses of rhinestones and floating threads. Gathered satin needs re-stitching in places at bodice. Edges of satin bodice are soiled. Satin has come unstitched at side zip 7cm long and there is a 3cm tear here also (easily repaired). Interior corset is a bit grubby and breast cups are frayed. Hem has been raised approx. 5cm and is soiled. Dress is unlined.
