The Royal Air Force - World War II - a comprehensive archive of material to World War II pilot F/O Alan George Huggett, consisting of a biscuit tin full of paperwork, including RAF acceptance letter in 1942, through his training in Canada, his promotion to Pilot Officer, as well as various items of insignia, his dogtags, identity card, Pilots flying log book, log book for aircrew, new service testament, various telegrams, and photographs, including A photograph of Huggett in Officers uniform, with his crew mates, in front of an aircraft (Liberator?) bombers taken mid-flight as well as a large quantity of tuition material, relating to his training, with lots of handwritten notation. The grouping also includes two trophy cups, his group of three medals, including Burma star, and carved Indian box bearing the RAF eagle badge. Condition Report: please see photographs, no noteable combat missions
Chinese ceramics 18th/19th century, comprising a flared petal shaped cup, finely painted with birds amongst blossoming flowers and rockwork, a pair of Dehua Blanc de Chine cups with applied relief blossoming prunus sprigs, a pair of 18th century saucers, a yellow ground dragon plate with Fuku, an octagonal yellow ground dish, a Famille Rose jug, a circular celadon dish and a tea bowl (10). CONDITION REPORT: Both Blanc de Chine cups have kiln dirt within the glaze and both have brown oxide tips to the applied sprigs, one more so than the other. One cup also has two large hairline cracks and an 8 mm x 2 mm interior rim chip. The flared rim Famille Rose cup has a rim to foot rim hairline crack. There is a small chip to the rim just above the handle. There is a small section of the blue enamel within the rockwork missing but the decoration is very good. The tea bowl has a rim to almost foot rim hairline crack and a further 1.5 cm hairline crack and a 3 cm V shape crack. The jug is missing its cover. The spout has been restored. There is a lot of fritting to the handle. There is a small scratch to the right of the handle around the rim which has been restored. The Celadon dish has a few small nibbles to the rim but no obvious cracks. The octagonal yellow ground plate is missing some of the yellow ground within the main field and there is also rub marks within the main field of decoration. It rings out nicely when lightly tapped and there are no obvious chips or cracks. One saucer has two small rim chips from which issue a 1 cm and 1.5 cm hairline crack. The other saucer is in good order with no obvious faults. The yellow ground dragon plate has four small sections of green enamel missing from the dragon and cloud. The red trail around the pearl is erased and rubbed. There is a small patch of white on the yellow ground. The rim is free from any chips, cracks or repairs.
A set of six Chinese porcelain tea cups and saucers, early 20th century, with panels of precious objects against a yellow ground decorated with lotus flower scroll stamped four character Qianlong mark. CONDITION REPORT: One cup has a very fine rim to foot rim hairline crack and a small flea bite chip to the rim. Another cup has a small chip to the exterior rim. One cup has a solder repair to the top and bottom of the handle, the repair is also visible on the interior of the cup. One cup has a small flea bite rim chip from which issues a 1.5 cm L shape hairline crack within the glaze. One saucer has a small patch of approximately 1.5 cm long of kiln dirt attached to the rim but this is a manufacturing flaw. All items have a poor Qianlong rubber stamp mark decoration and execution of the enamels is poor.
A French porcelain four place tea set, early 20th century, each piece with moulded woven decoration and rope twist borders, heightened with gilding, printed marks (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: All pieces are simply marked “Made In France” to the underside. Two of the saucers are in extremely good order. One has some rubbing to the gilding on the edge. The fourth saucer has more significant rubbing and two small rim chips. There is no damage to any of the cups. All four do however have rubbing to the gilding on the top lip in varying degrees. One of the cups has some very minor scratches to the bottom of the bowl. The teapot, sugar basin and milk jug are all in very good order with no issues.
Four Dresden porcelain tea cups with saucers, three further saucers all hand painted and with blue script Dresden mark and five pieces of Royal Crown Derby and Royal Crown Derby style tea ware. CONDITION REPORT: There are two cups and saucers with yellow flowers which are in good order with no obvious faults. There are two cups and matching saucers with blue flowers - one cup has been broken in half and glued. The other cup is in good order. Both saucers are in good order. There are three remaining matching saucers, two of which have pink floral bouquets and are in good order. The final saucer has floral sprays but has a small section of the pierced rim missing. The 1894 Crown Derby coffee can is in good order with no obvious faults. The London handle teacup has a large rim to foot rim hairline crack. The later teacup is in good order with no obvious faults. Both Derby saucers are in good order. All items may be subject to minor gilt losses.
A Royal Albert Old English Roses part tea service, comprising 10 tea cups, 8 saucers, 6 side plates, 4 dessert plates, sandwich plate, 2 afternoon tea cups and saucers, sugar bowl and milk jug, and 2 Old Country Roses dessert plates and lidded sucrier. CONDITION REPORT: One cup has a large fine hairline crack running from rim to around the bottom rim. Otherwise all items are in very good condition and all ring out nicely when lightly tapped.
