Constantin-Louis Detouche (1810-1889) was one of the most important mid-19th century clockmakers in France. He took over his father's business, founded in 1803, in the mid-1830s and made many horological improvements, and between 1845-and 1859 was joined as chef d'atelier by the renowned mechanician Jacques-Francois Houdin.
