A Leach Pottery, celadon glazed porcelanious part tea service, comprising six cups (one cracked), seven saucers, a milk jug and a sugar bowl, together with a large tea pot with an incised leaf motif to each side, probably by Bernard Leach, lid chipped. Five 18.2cm plates each with incised leaf, and a leaf incised stoneware plate, 25cm, these again probably decorated by Bernard Leach. (See illustration) NOTE: This collection was bought by Joyce Endeen, Bernard Leach`s secretary from 1948 to 1950. She was buying it on behalf of an aunt and chose each piece carefully.

A Bernard Leach, celadon porcelain small bowl, the centre incised a flower head. Diameter 12.8cm, impressed pottery seal and incised BL initials. Hairline crack. This bowl was chosen from a Leach firing by Leach office clerk Madelaine (Ann) Nankervis. She worked there in the late 1950s.

Provenance: This was an engagement present in 1958 to Madelaine (Ann) Nankervis from Shoji Hamada`s son, Atsuya. The reference to Clodgey was used as this is where the engaged couple spent their time courting.
