A remarkable, three dimensional paper model of The Leach Pottery circa 1920. The model shows in detail the interior of the pottery, including the kiln room, the living accommodation, the painting room and the iconic fireplace. The details even include opening doors and individual pots on shelves. This model was without doubt made by Bernard Leach and the text to the envelope is in his hand. It is amazing how a model such as this has survived in such great condition and offers such a valuable insight into the first year of The Leach Pottery. Trevor Corser obviously treasured this item as it has been carefully stored for all this time. Constructed three dimensional measurements, length 40cm, width 13cm, height 10cm. (See illustration) Condition Report Some tears on folds, one rip in middle on the roof area, slight stains.

A Vernon Owens (Jugtown Pottery, North Carolina) salt-glaze, jar with angular neck and plain handle, height: 19cm. Impressed Jugtown mark. Together with a similar stoneware jar, height 15cm, inscribed 'thrown by Vernon Owen (sic) June /76. Note: In 'The Potters Eye, Art and Tradition in North Carolina by Mark Hewitt & Nancy Sweezy, there is a description of a visit made by Owens and other American potters to the Leach Pottery in 1976 and the gift of this salt-glaze vase to Leach. The other vase was probably thrown by Owens during this visit.
