A Chinese sang-de-boeuf bottle vase, underglaze zhuanshu mark to the base, approximately 16 cm (h), a small Lowerdown Pottery jug by Jeremy Leach and one further jug, also included in the lot is a George V cut glass and silver topped dressing table scent bottle, with stopper, Birmingham assay 1922, sponsors mark rubbed but probably Herbert Scott Murdoch, approximately 6.5 cm (h). A 19th century Doulton Lambeth stoneware jug, stamped The Art Union London, 27cm high, together with two smaller Doulton pieces, a 19th century Wedgwood caneware game pie tureen and cover and three pieces of Muchelney art pottery, by John Leach (7)Condition report: All the stoneware appears to be undamaged. The caneware has a star crack in the base, is dirty and discoloured and the liner has a large chip. The game dish measures 30cm across the base.

A Bernard Leach CH CBE (1887-1979) studio pottery porcelain bud vase, mid 20th century, of compressed spherical form with swirled motifs between concentric rings, impressed 'BL' and 'Leach Pottery' seal marks, 11cm high CONDITION REPORT:The piece shows the odd small firing pit and frit, but no visible chips, cracks or losses. There is also a small glazing fault at the circumference which appears to have a small grain embedded in it (see photo).
BERNARD LEACH INTEREST an interesting collection of items related to Bernard Leach, mostly given to his son Maurice. Including a 1971 Exhibition Catalogue organised by the Tenmaya Department Store in Okayama (signed by Bernard and dated 1972), a small watercolour of a beach scene in Cornwall titled Gannet (19.5 x 16cms, BL monogram), various postcards and letters from Bernard to Laurie Cookes and Maurice (some from Japan and overseas) including some with small drawings (one on St Ives paper with small drawings of pottery, one with a drawing of an aeroplane, postcard to Laurie signed by BL, Hamada, Yanagi and Kawai dated 1934, letter with a drawing of Pembroke Castle etc), Dartington Hall booklets, and various other postcards including some given to Bernard and Laurie etc.
