Advertising Poster - Gas, cooking so fast! Gaz il cuit si vite! Country: Switzerland. Year: 1956. Artist: Donald Brun. Swiss designer, Donald Brun (1909-1999), has designed an incredible amount of posters, all of which showcase a recognizable style featuring bright punchy colors, varied textures and interesting forms. This poster, created in 1956 for the International Festival of Music in Lucerne, is no exception with it’s array of shapes coming together to form the colorful scroll of a cello. Like his Swiss contemporary, Herbert Leupin, Brun mainly designed images for advertisements. In addition, Brun co-founded AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) and also taught at Kunstgewerbeschule Basel in Switzerland from 1947-1974. The Museum für Gestaltung (Museum of Design) Zürich published a book titled Poster Collection:02 in 2001 showcasing the numerous posters he designed.Size (cm):128x90.5.
