A nest of four stained ivory inlaid Indian hardwood tablesearly to mid-20th century, the largest depicting a farmer with his two oxen, his wife cooking up a fish meal beneath a tree, overlooked by three inquisitive monkeys, the second depicting a farmer and lad with a fully laden horse taking a drink, the third depicting a ox cart with farmer and children, the fourth depicting two farmers' wives working the grain, the largest standing 15¾in. (40cm.) high. (4)
A large Makonde carved ebony (mpingo) tree of lifeTanzania / Mozambique, the extensively open carved and highly polished heartwood depicting numerous figures stood supporting one another, commonly representing the support across multiple generations within the community, some shown performing traditional tasks of cooking and farming, with a larger strong-featured figure at the top, probably the tribal chief, the single carved piece represents community harmony and continuity, stood on integral base, 65½in. (166cm.) high.

A ZULU BEER POT (20TH CENTURY), SOUTH AFRICA. Dark brown patina, incised decoration. Pots are made in different sizes to traditionally serve different purposes, brewing, serving, and for cooking meat, storing water and grain and for drinking sour milk. Zulu pots moved from mainstream usage, to the high-end world of handcrafted collectibles. Decoration on the pots vary according to family and region. 5ins in height.
