A Regency/William IV rosewood chess table, with penwork top depicting pastoral scenes, fruiting vine and cornucopia and with chessboard centre, with moulded edge above a frieze drawer containing a Cantonese chess set in red and white bone, height of king 13 cm, and raised on turned end supports and short bun feet. Width 71 cm, depth 56 cm (see illustrations). CONDITION REPORT: We cannot see any makers marks or names on either the table or the chess pieces.
