An early 20th Century carved ivory chess set of Indonesian style, one side natural, the other stained brown, natural side missing a Queen and a Knight, the stained side missing a King, height of King approx 11 cm, height of Pawn approx 7.6 cm, together with a carved ivory Knight of squat form
A mid 20th Century amboyna and ivory inlaid games compendium, the lid opening to reveal a fitted interior comprising a carved ivory chess set, one side natural, the other stained red, ivory dominoes, ivory draughts, one side natural, the other stained red, two leather games boards, one for chess, the other for backgammon, together with assorted cards and contact bridge score card, dated "Revised November 1932" to back, height of King 6.8 cm, height of Pawn 3.5 cm, box 38.5 cm x 28.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Various losses, scratches, damage to the veneer to the box, especially to the top. Interior looks to be complete with a full complement of card packs, however, is not unknown if all cards are present. Two dice. 15 white and 15 red draughts pieces. It appears to be a full complement of dominoes. All with general small light scratches, general wear and tear, but overall good.
After S Tuker; two etchings, 'Coarse Fish', 25 x 39cm and 'A Pot Shot', 27 x 22cm, both signed and dated lower right and a 19th century engraving of two gentlemen playing chess, all three framed and glazed. Artist is Lt. General Sir Frances Ivan Simms Tuker KCIE CB DSO OBE, a commander on the North West Frontier of India.
