The second a Victorian burr walnut work table of trumpet form, the top with inlaid scrolling decoration opening to reveal a fitted interior, raised on triform cabriole legs.The first 38cm wide x 38cm deep x 72cm high. The second 44cm wide x 44cm deep x 74cm highQty: 2The first with notable damage to the veneer on the top with some lifting, particularly in the rosewood tiles of the chess set, and some cracking. Some notable damage to the varnish. Some water damage to the base. The second with ring marks to the top, some lifting to the veneer, and some plug marks in the top. Some wear and tearing to the fitted interior. Some scuffing down the legs.

MONTEGRAPPA, MAROSTICA, THE GAME OF CHESS A LIMITED EDITION FOUNTAIN PEN, NO. 1228/2000, CIRCA 2000 Cap and Barrel: Silver coloured and red resin cap and barrel, engraved with a chess board, the cap with a clip, the barrel end formed as a rook, stamped with Milano post 1968 .925 standard mark Nib and Filling System: Medium two tone gold coloured nib, piston filling system, inked Accessories: Original Montegrappa box, certificate of authenticity, guarantee card, information book, CD-ROM, polishing cloth and outer card packaging Condition Report: The pen is lightly dip inked, but otherwise almost unused. No damage or defects to the pen, the silver might benefit from wiping with a silver cloth. Leonard Campbell Taylor (British 1874-1969) - The Chess Game: interior with figures at a table, watercolour, 33cm x 36.5cm, within a pierced gilt frame. Note: this watercolour reputedly came out of a large house in Leeds after the death of the last occupant. There were two pictures by Taylor that had been commissioned of and for the house. These works and other items from the house were then auctioned, including furnishings that appear in the paintings.
A VICTORIAN ROSEWOOD AND BOX ST GEORGE PATTERN CHESS SET, the Kings with beehive style turned finials, the white knights with inset opaque glass eyes, unmarked, king 3" high (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)Condition Report: White--both knights are glued on to bases, one knight has small nicks to base and this one also lacks right ear, one bishop has a minute nick to one blade knop, one rook has a minute chip to one turret. Black-- king lacks top finial and has slight loss to turning on top, one pawn has losses to top turned blade (smallest), one rook has loss to one outer turret, both knights have original base(one with loss) but the horse heads are different and poorly carved in a soft wood.
